Doomsday Scenario 2013

In keeping with my Realist (not necessarily Pessimist) view of things, let me predict what might happen in the U.S. in the near future - very possibly in or by 2014. First, the U.S. Federal Government will run up an unimaginably huge deficit, its credit rating will plummet, and the dollar will become nearly worthless. The government will then, of course, be unable to meet its obligations as far as pensions and Social Security payments. China, India, and Europe will come to the rescue by buying American companies, industries, and businesses and hiring Americans to run them and work in them. The U.S. will have to sell U.S. territory as well in order to survive. The American Southwest will again become part of Mexico. As a result of several natural catastrophes, American food production will shrink to well below minimal subsistence levels. Millions will starve. Violence, political chaos, and social desperation will prevail in every American city. Millions will die from simple diseases. In return for total disarmament, Russia will help out with the food shortages. America's economic and military presence all over the globe will be scaled back to zero. This will plunge the entire world into a new dark ages for a short while. Europe will then take control of all Middle Eastern countries and will become dominant among world nations once again. Prosperity will have disappeared but the world will have peace and security. I might, of course, be way off the mark. Pay no attention to me.

Murdered Children

Twenty children and a few adults were murdered yesterday in Newtown, Connecticut. The school Principal was among the victims. The violence occurred in Sandy Hook Elementary School at around 9:40 in the morning. Now, my point is this: when the Principal got up that morning - let's say around 6:00 a.m. - she had absolutely no idea that she would die later that morning. No clue whatsoever. In fact, even ten minutes before she died, she knew nothing about what was about to happen. Neither did anyone else who got shot and died. But God knew. He knows everything, even before it happens. God chose not to intervene. My question - and I keep asking this - why didn't God save them? God is all-powerful and saving the victims would have been absolutely no problem for Him. Why did He not save them? Anyone know?

4 Head Presidential bond sale

We came close to selling a 4 Head bond yesterday. The only problem? The seller wouldn't show the bond. Is that impractical or what? Our offer: 500 million USD. Why do bond owners say they want to sell and then not show up? The only reason I can think of is this: they don't really have the bond, even if all the documentation shows they do.

Ignore This Post

I'm just posting so that November 2012 won't be a blank month for this blog. That's all. Ciao.

Queen Victoria 1000 bond

Bond buyers are now looking for Potosi and Queen Victoria bonds. If you are an interested broker - someone who knows someone who has the bond - forget about making any deals. Once you put the main parties in touch with each other, you will be cut out of the deal. Buyers (and sellers) don't like paying more than one person on each side. Do not believe anything that anyone tells you about getting part of a healthy commission. You will NEVER be paid. There are a hundred excuses being thrown out that will justify the buyer and seller cutting you out. They will also just flat out lie to you. Do not waste your time on this. The business is great but the honest players are non-existent - there are NO honest buyers or sellers out there. Sorry.

Black Eagle bond 27500

So, the much-sought-after Black Eagle, so-called 27500, Mexican bond is again in high demand. I know it's not easy to find and many who claim to own it do not. They may have paperwork which they copy over and over again but that proves nothing. The due diligence required to process such a bond includes a search of data bases which tell the whole story. It's like doing a title search on a property. Remember that. Photos alone tell only a small part of what's necessary. On the other hand, if you are a seller, be wary of any buyers who claim they can close quickly. The process usually takes more than two months. Anxious brokers say you can close in four days. I have never seen that and I never will. I know better. Most buyers may have down payment money to make purchases but they often have to borrow the capital needed to actually close. Or, they may need to set up joint ventures to secure the money needed to close. Those things take a lot of time. In the meantime, your bond gets tied up for many weeks. Most buyers are borderline dishonest, if not outright dishonest - much worse than used car salesmen. Beware. Most brokers who have somehow found sellers have often come away discouraged with what they have encountered and still, they try to put deals together. Unless you have a great sense of humor and can absorb the absurdity of the entire bond dealing scenario with a good attitude, stay away because you will only end up frustrated and disillusioned. Enjoy whatever it is you do and count your blessings. Things could always be worse.

Explosion in Venezuela

There may have been an explosion at a large Venezuelan refinery a few minutes ago. This may be a developing story and you won't read about it - if it's true - until tomorrow. That is all I know.

Irma Driggers

Some time ago, Irma Driggers asked me for a painting I had done. It was a nice painting of a violin which I was very fond of so I hesitated but, I eventually gave in and gave it to her. She was very insistent and persuasive. I think you know what I mean. However, I took a picture of it and I have posted it on the internet. It is entitled Guarnerius. If I ever become a famous painter, it might then be worth a lot of money - maybe even more than $500. Nevertheless, it is extremely unlikely that I will ever be a well-known painter.  Anyway, as far as Irma Driggers is concerned, the painting does have sentimental value. I think she still has it.

Comments

Very, very, very few people make comments on my blog. Very few. The reason for that? On average, about one tenth of one percent of readers make comments on other blogs. I have done the math. On this blog though, the ratio of commenters to readers is much, much, much lower. The reason: maybe it's too much trouble; maybe people don't have anything to say; maybe the blog does not stimulate anyone to contribute any comments; maybe the blog is boring and does not merit the time of day; maybe readers are afraid of me; maybe the blog is not read by anybody. The last reason is the most likely. There are almost ten billion people alive at this very moment - I'm lucky to get four of them to read my posts. So be it - that does not bother me one bit. I actually enjoy talking to myself.

Proof of Funds

In many businesses, one must show proof of product before the buyer produces proof of funds when he is asked to do so. If your buyer hesitates, just walk away. Someone who cannot produce proof of funds after you have shown him what you're selling, has NO funds. Even if he is being financed, he MUST show proof of funds. Period.

Mexican bonds hoax

The market in Mexican bonds is limited. Bonds are plentiful but real buyers are almost impossible to find. If anyone tells you they are buying, make them prove it. Otherwise, the deal is just a little childish game or a hoax. You know the saying: "If it's too good to be true, then it ain't true." Cheers.

Queen Victoria bond buyer

Queen Victoria 1000 bond buyers seem to be disappearing. The bonds are available but the buyers are very, very hard to find. If you are a buyer, we can find the bond - in this Western hemisphere or in Europe - no problem. Just look us up on Linkedin under the Exotic Mexican Bonds Group. Good luck.

The Problem With God

The serious debate about the existence of God seems to have gotten started in the 20th Century.  Prior to the turn of the last century, His existence was hardly ever called into question. It was simply assumed that He existed. Then came major scientific achievements for which men took credit, as if they had been the creators, not the discoverers. Men discovered things which were there for millions of years but which were mysteries up until men started probing. In any case, the theory of evolution soon became a fashionable thing to expound.  There can be no question but that a thing cannot create itself, no matter how simple its structure. When someone can prove to me that a symphony which we attribute to Mozart or Beethoven or Bizet or Brahms or Shostakovitch, or anyone else, actually wrote itself, then I will stop believing in the existence of an all-powerful God. If I know that even the simplest children's book could not write itself, why bother with anything more complex? The DNA molecule of a human being is said to be exceedingly complex. Its code is very long, but then, it contains the instructions for the production of a human person. It's like a biological, living, computer chip. If that came into existence as a result of billions of years of trial and error, then we can say that a long row of 10,000 cars, all painted in ten different colors, with engines running, can line themselves up in an orderly and predetermined fashion, without any outside help. Ludicrous. The very thought that anything, whether living or inanimate, can come into being without outside guidance and purpose is silly beyond imagining. The problem with belief in God is actually moral. Evil is impossible to reconcile with God. So we doubt God. We cannot see God so we doubt God. We cannot imagine the magnitude of power that it takes to create a star or a solar system or a universe - power focused in one Being. It is simply beyond imagining. So, we doubt God. We cannot imagine a God who would watch horrible events take place on Earth without stepping in and doing something about it so we doubt God. A little girl gets run over by a truck and God knew ahead of time but He did not intervene. Does anyone know why? That is the problem.

Timid Reporter and Mitt Romney

I may have to call the Timid Reporter to see if he might be interested in interviewing Mitt Romney soon. I hope I can find him.

Peer Pressure

We are all so susceptible to peer pressure that no person, at any level, can effect any change that will actually bring benefits to everyone. From the lowliest person to the highest potentate, people always act to please the majority opinion or the people who put most pressure on you - be popular, be chic, go with the flow, be in fashion, adjust to the trends - no matter what. Believe what everyone else believes or else risk being shunned and ridiculed and much worse.

4 Head Presidential bond

We are currently engaged in a serious search for a 4 Head Presidential bond AND a 27500 Black Eagle Mexican bond. The offers are out of this world but a question regarding SOLICITATION by the buyer has arisen. This is a strictly private transaction between private parties. The solicitation issue does not come into play at all. Have a wonderful day. By the way, do let me know if you know anyone who has possession of these bonds. Thank you for your time.

Yes, God Knew

A little girl, 11 years old, recently got run over by a truck. She was crossing the street and did not see the truck coming because the truck was being blocked by another vehicle which was to the left of and alongside the truck but slightly ahead of it. For the same reason, the driver of the truck that struck the girl didn't see her coming and couldn't stop in time. The little girl quickly died from her injuries. If she had been at the curb just thirty seconds before, she would have made it across safely. Five minutes before all of this happened, God knew what was about to happen. The driver was probably listening to the radio or simply thinking what she was going to make for dinner or any of a hundred other things, oblivious to what lay in store for her and the little girl just five minutes hence. The little girl was probably thinking what an eleven-year-old normally thinks about. The last thing on her mind was that she would be dead within the next five minutes. God knew, though He simply did not intervene. Does anyone know why?

Whitney Houston and Stress

Whitney Houston, the singer, is dead. She died at a rather young age - she was only 48. The regular papers all say she abused drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Perhaps she did. I wasn't there to witness any of it. They are saying her death was related to her deteriorating health. That is, of course, stating the obvious. Houston actually died of stress - stress on her body and mental condition due to pressures from career issues. 99% of people do not realize that artists lead difficult lives in private. The distance between the public and the private person is very great. Bridging that distance is hard. Keeping up appearances is tough. Being creative is demanding. Staying in top form is difficult. Fame and skill do not last forever. Artists are people who need lots and lots of moral support. When it does not come, they turn to whatever means are available to hide the fact that things are not quite what they should be. Unfortunately, money does not solve the problem. Fortunate is the artist who does not pay some heavy personal price for their success. The torture is sometimes unbearable but most times, it is self-inflicted. What Houston needed most was simply to just have a good time - just like she used to.

Newt Gingrich Interview

Coffee Club Newsletter ©
Volume 22 No. 1 – January 23, 2012
Any similarity to persons actually living or events actually happening is coincidental.

TR: Good morning. Are you Newt Gingrich?
NG: Who are you? Are you with the media?
TR: Yes sir, the Coffee Club Newsletter. I have an appointment. Sorry I’m a little late.
NG: That’s typical of you people. I expected someone much taller.
TR: Sorry, sir. I’ve been this same size since 1798.
NG: Sure, whatever you say. I know you don’t believe your own stories.
TR: May I sit down so I can ask my five questions and head on over to Romney’s headquarters?
NG: You don’t have to bother with him anymore.
TR: What do you mean?
NG: Don’t you follow the news my dear sir? Romney now looks like he might make a good Vice President. I’m giving it some thought. Sit down right there please.
TR: Ok. So, you believe you have the nomination won?
NG: The voters of South Carolina have spoken loud and clear.
TR: What about the scandals?
NG: You mean those stories the media likes to dig up just to sell more papers?
TR: You have had several wives and …..
NG: Not as many as Larry King.
TR: Yes, but what about Fannie Mae?
NG: I’ve never had relations with Fannie Mae.
TR: But didn’t you make millions of dollars from the government agency while it was going bankrupt?
NG: I just have a good nose for smelling money. That should be viewed as a virtue. I needed the money. It was just a coincidence that it was Democratic money.
TR: People say you got rich while the country’s economy fell on its face.
NG: I think you are giving me too much credit for the recession. I had nothing to do with that. That was prompted by the Democrats.
TR: Nancy Pelosi said President Bush was to blame.
NG: I’m not President Bush.
TR: I know, but ….
NG: But nothing. I’m not President Bush. Period.
TR: He might not like it if he knew you were disavowing him.
NG: There you go again. If you don’t print it, he won’t know.
TR: Ok.
NG: You have to admit that the media seems to just be picking on me. Why don’t you pick on Romney or Santorum or Obama or Marianne.
TR: Well, I’ve always been neutral and objective. I’m a graduate of the Eve Ning Sun School of Advanced Photography in North Korea.
NG: I’ve never heard of it.
TR: It’s been closed for many years, since 1960 I think.
NG: No wonder.
TR: How do you respond to questions about your inability to manage money?
NG: With the truth, that’s how.
TR: But one of your women has said you always spent more than you earned.
NG: Which one?
TR: I promised Marianne I wouldn’t say.
NG: Well, your secret is safe with me, but never mind.
TR: She also said you were a little hypocrite.
NG: Look, I’m about eight inches taller than you – what does that tell you?
TR: I don’t know.
NG: It tells you she’s lying.
TR: So you never spent more than you earned?
NG: Only when necessary.
TR: And all the mistresses you had?
NG: They were girlfriends, not mistresses, and the whole thing is rather personal – nothing to do with the Republic and where the country is headed.
TR: A rumor is out that if you’re elected, you’ll push for a Constitutional Amendment to allow for two or three First Ladies?
NG: Ridiculous.
TR: Not true?
NG: Ridiculous.
TR: Do you think you’ll do well in Florida?
NG: The nomination is as good as sewed up.
TR: You seem very confident.
NG: Yes, but I was not always this way. I used to be more like you.
TR: So, what happened?
NG: What happened? One of my High School teachers opened my eyes.
TR: How?
NG: She seduced me; that’s how. You are rather naïve, you know that?
TR: I have been told.
NG: You must be at least 40?
TR: I will be 235 in July.
NG: And how many women have you had?
TR: I’m still single.
NG: You know something? You’re rather loony and more than a little pathetic. We could use you in my campaign.
TR: Doing what?
NG: Infiltrating the Romney organization. We’ve done stuff like that before.
TR: Yes, I know.
NG: You would drive them nuts over there, destroy what little they’ve got.
TR: Well, I don’t need the money but I would consider it if you agree to pay me in gold coins. I haven’t trusted any country’s currency since before 1850.
NG: I can pay you in Dollars or Euros – no gold coins.
TR: Well, the way things are going….
NG: If you’re worried about the economy, worry no more.
TR: You have a plan to get the country out of the recession?
NG: Absolutely.
TR: How will you take care of the unemployment problem?
NG: Easy. I will simply deport anyone who has been unemployed for more than three weeks. That will bring the unemployment rate down to zero.
TR: And where will you deport all those people to?
NG: China. That’s where all the jobs are.
TR: Is that legal?
NG: Look. The Chinese do not worry about legalities.
TR: I meant legal for the U.S. government.
NG: Well, people will probably sue the government in a class action but by the time it gets settled, we will be long gone.
TR: Not I.
NG: Why do you insist that you’re a very old man?
TR: Because I am. I always tell the truth. I was born in 1777. July 7.
NG: You must be high on something.
TR: I drink a tea made from Chinese herbs combined with the bark of a tree in the Himalayas.
NG: I’m calling security.
TR: Go ahead. I’m timid but I am not afraid of anything. I speak the truth.
NG: If I give you the benefit of the doubt, will you share some of this tea with me?
TR: My father would have to decide.
NG: Your father is alive?
TR: Yes. He used to know all the Roman Emperors. He is older than I.
NG: Of course. Where is he now?
TR: In Vienna, Austria.
NG: I have a home in Vienna. We will make a fortune with this. Perhaps we could meet.
TR: I will check with my cousins.
NG: And where are they?
TR: In Nepal.
NG: How can you get in touch?
TR: They have cell phones.
NG: God bless the U.S.A.
TR: Why?
NG: American technology will save the day. They can call me direct. I’ll give you my cell number. This is really mind-boggling. To be rich and to be young and to be powerful - what more can anyone ask?
TR: To sleep well?
NG: Yeah, that too.
TR: Well, I have run out of questions as usual, and I must be going to Romney’s headquarters now.
NG: Good luck with those people but do give them my best.
TR: Yes sir, I will.
